Abstract

PURPOSE:To avoid generation of exhaust gas of a high temperature in an incinerator wherein matter disposed such as city trash is transported through drying range, burning range and after-burning range in this order for burning purpose by controlling the amount of matter disposed to be fed into the burning range and the after- burning range corresponding to the exhaust gas temperature and the temperature within the after-burning range respectively. CONSTITUTION:In an incinerator for burning city trash and so on, the trash is fed through feeding port 8 onto a fire grate 9 and burned while it is transported through the drying range A, burning range B and after-burning range C in this order. In this invention, there is provided a means 25 for detecting the temperature of combustion exhaust gas near the entrance of exhaust gas passage 18 and another means 24 for detecting the temperature in the after-burning range C within the range C. If the means 25 detects a higher temperature than a predetermined value, at least an actuator 13 for feeding matter disposed into the burning range B is stopped. Similarly, if the means 24 detects a higher temperature than a predetermined value, at least the actuator 14 for feeding matter disposed into the after-burning range C is stopped.
