Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent damage of the unit, which is caused due to operation failure in case of recording and reproducing, by controlling the operation means for preventing irradiation to the recording medium, by the output of the rotary speed detecing means of the recording medium.
CONSTITUTION: When recording, a recording a signal is applied to the terminal 4, and the switch SW2 is changed to the R contact, and subsequently, in case the switch SW1 has been changed to the R contact before the electric motor 2 is pulled in the synchronizing signal of the recording signal, or in case the unit has been made a recording mode by forgetting to lead the the recording signal into the terminal 4, the output of the synchronous detection circuit 301 is zero voltage since the electric motor 2 does not perform its synchronized rotation, a light beam does not irradiate the recording medium 1 since the semiconductor laser 7 is in nonluminous state, and therefore, the recording failure does not occur. Accordingly, damage of the unit caused by maloperation, trouble of the circuit, etc. can be prevented.
