Abstract
PURPOSE: To normalize the quantity of the gas to be recirculated by conducting control of negative pressure to be introduced into the negative pressure chamber of an exhaust gas recirculation valve using an air regulator valve to be operated by venturi negative pressure.
CONSTITUTION: The intake and exhaust lines of an engine are put into communication by a recirculation passage 10 having an exhaust gas recirculation valve 27, through which a part of exhaust gas is fed back to the intake line. Into the negative pressure chamber 28 of the valve 27, negative pressure at the down flow of a throttle valve 43 is introduced through a negative pressure regulator valve 37. This negative pressure chamber 28 is in communication with an air regulator valve 1 which is controlled by negative pressure at the venturi part 29 and controls the magnitude of negative pressure to be introduced into the chamber 28. The vlave elemet of the valve 1 is composed of a fixed and a moving cylinder 9, 11, where a long hole 8 is excavated in the fixed cylinder 9. The moving cylinder 11 moves so that the quantity of the air to be snet for the outlet 7 through the long hole 8 is controlled.
