PURPOSE:To increase the number of exit optical fibers or optical waveguides that distribute and emit incident light by inserting a half mirror in the middle of the glass bulks or coupling part connected with a purality of optical fibers or optical waveguides at both ends. CONSTITUTION:An incident optical fiber 3 and exit optical fibers 41, 41',..., 42, 42',... are connected by the two end faces 2, 2'' of glass bulks 1, 1', and the central end faces 2' of the glass bulks 1, 1' are mutually connected by way of a half mirror 6. The light incident from the incident optical fiber 3 to the glass bulk 1 is multiple- reflected by the side wall thereof and spreads uniformly. This light is half-reflected by the half mirror 6, returns to the end face 2 and is taken out from the exit optical fibers 41, 41',.... On the other hand, the light passed through the half mirror 6 multiple-reflects in the glass bulk 1', advances to the end face 2' and is taken out from the exit optical fibers 42, 42',.... Hence, as comparted to the one connected with the exit optical fibers to one glass bulk only, the number of the exit optical fibers can be made double.
