Abstract

PURPOSE: To effectively collect fine aerosols of liquid phase or deliquescent property in the air by a method in which the air is passed through an HEPA filter to granulate aerosols present in the air and then passed through a rough filter.
CONSTITUTION: Air sucked up from the air intake 4 is introduced into the HEPA filter 2 where fine aerosols present in tha air is collected, during which period aerosols of liquid phase or deliquescent property are converted into liquid particles of a compratively large size in the filter 2 and come out on the rear surface of the filter. The aerosols are again scattered by passing air and the diameter of the droplets being scattered is made several to tens of micron larger than that of the aerosol just before the HEPA filter. The air containing the grown liquid droplets enters the rough filter 3 provided on the downflow side, where the aerosols of liquid phase of deliquescent property are completely removed, and then supplied from the air outlet 5 into a plant building.
