Abstract
PURPOSE: To decrease the occupying area of the device within a reactor vessel by fitting a ultrasonic wave reflecting plate along the inner wall of a vessel accommodating therein a ultrasonic wave penetrating device.
CONSTITUTION: A corner reflector type reflecting plate 16 is provided along the inner wall of a reactor vessel. Two ultrasonic wave transducers 8 and 10 are provided at the opposite side relative to the center of a reactor core 2 of the reflecting plate 16. The transducers 8 and 10 are provided with horizontal direction rotation driving means and rotational angle detecting means. On the upper surface of the core 2, there is shown a fuel assembly 7 floating up, and the position of the assembly 7 is orientated by the transducers 8 and 10 and the reflection plate 16.
