Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a planetary differential reduction gear which has a small exterior shape and large output and is light in weight by a method wherein the eccentric revolutional motion of a pinion is enabled by the rotational motion of a crank pin on its axis and further an interior teeth gearing with the exterior teeth of the pinion is provided inside a hub surrounding the exterior teeth. CONSTITUTION:In a reduction gear 5, a pillar-form part 21 of a supporting block 13 is inserted freely into a piercing hole 33c bored in a pinion 33, while both ends of a crank pin 31 are supported by both end parts of the supporting block 13. By this constitution, distortion of the crank pin 31 can be made minimum, and, when the distortion within the same limits is allowed, the output torque can be increased several times compares with a case where the support is made in a cantilever fashion. And, owing to the stable support of the crank pin 31 and the reduction of the distortion thereof by supporting both end parts thereof, a bearing 29 of small size can be employed and the speed reducer 5 can be miniaturized. Moreover, in the case where the bearing 29 of the same size is used, the life of the bearing can be prolonged as compared with the conventional supporting method employing the cantilever fashion. Furthermore, because of the stabilization of the crank pin 31 and the reduction of the distortion thereof, the gearing effect of the exterior teeth of the pinion 33 revolved by the crank pin 31 with the interior teeth of a hub 37 is increased and thereby the transmission of the torque of larger output can be achieved.
