Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the fluctuation in the temperature of a cooling block, by coating a material of high thermal redistance on the inside surface of the cooling block, which comes into contact with a liquid coolant. CONSTITUTION:The cooling block 5 is made of a copper member and coupled by a Kovar pipe 4 to the tip of the inner pipe 1 of a double-pipe heat insulation container 3 comprising the inner pipe 1 and an outer pipe 2. A coating layer 15 of a material of high thermal resistance is provided on the inside surface of the cooling block 5, which comes into contact with a liquid coolant. Even if the temperature of the liquid coolant slightly fluctuates due to foaming or the like, the coating layer 15 prevents the temperature fluctuation from being directly transmitted to the cooling block 5. As a result, the fluctuation in the oscillation frequency of a laser element 8 is greatly reduced because the element is cooled by the cooling block through a heat sink 6.
