Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the self-sucking capability of a pump by providing a disc-like valve plate having a conical surface, a cylinder block having a conical surface of slidable contact with the valve plate, and a plunger pressing the cylinder block against the valve plate.
CONSTITUTION: The area of the opening part of the discharge-side port 6 of a valve plate 2 along a conical surface A is larger than that of a platelike one, and the port 7 of a cylinder block 1 is formed with some inclination to the direction of the axis thereof so as to connect vertically with the opening part. Accordingly, compared with the platelike valve plate, the internal sectional area of the port 7 is enlarged by the portion of the inclination and, as a result, the suction resistance of the low- pressure working oil can be reduced, whereby the self-scuking capability of the pump can be increased to the same extent. On the other hand, if the pressing force by a plunger 9a is enlarged beforehand throgh the increase in a pressure-receiving area and other means, the sectional area of the port can be enlarged to the same extent without raising the cylinder block 1 from the valve plate 2, and thereby the self-sucking capability of the pump can be increased proporlionally.
