Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable production of a good-quality plated long-wire in the process of molten metal plating on a metal wire by a method wherein a drawing die is protected from clogging with foreign matter by agitating and circulating the molten metal close to the drawing die in a molten metal tank. CONSTITUTION:The metal wire W is pickled in a tank 1, then is run through a molten metal tank 21, and is pulled out while plating thickness is adjusted by a drawing die 4. In this plating process, an impeller 5 having blades 51 is installed near the drawing die 4, and is rotated by drive source and rotary shaft which are not shown. This agitates the molten metal 2 and causes chloride stacked or stayed near the die 4 to be removed by circulation in the arrow direction. This prevents the die 4 from clogging and thereby protects the metal wire from inadequate squeezing operation. Thus, the molten metal plating can be continued for an extended period of time and a good-quality plated long-wire can be produced.
