Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent crystallization of an Se photoreceptor, its abrasion, rise of residual potential, deterioration of sensitivity, etc., and to enhance electrophotographic characteristics of the photoreceptor, by adding an aromatic polyamideimide layer on the surface of the Se or Se alloy layer.
CONSTITUTION: A layer of a polyamideimide chiefly composed of repeated units represented by the formula shown (Ar1 is a trivalent aromatic group and Ar2 is a divalent aromatic group) is formed as a protective layer on a photosensitive layer made of Se or Se alloy on a conductive substrate, thus permitting an electrophotographic receptor to prevent crystallization of the Se or Se alloy layer, its abrasion, and further unfavorable influence on its acceptable potential and its dark decay, and to raise sensitivity and to little raise residual potential.
