Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an amplifier of a simpler push-pull structure having a high efficiency and no switching distortion, by providing the emitter-earthed push-pull output circuit, the bias setting circuit and the bias current control circuit. CONSTITUTION:The output voltage of the DC current sources 18 and 20 plus the resistance volues of the variable resistances 2 and 3 are set properly. And thus the normal B-class or the AB-class operation is secured for the output transistors 10 and 15 in the period during which each of the transistors swings in the forward direction, and the cut-off is prevented during the swing is secured in the cut-off direction. Thus an operation is secured with a smooth curve decided by the characteristics of the exponent function of the diodes 6 and 13 for the transistors. As a result, the similar efficiency to the conventional amplifier can be obtained along with the switching distortion reduced extremely. In addition, the output can be swung up to the power supply voltage since each of the transistors 10 and 15 is used in the emitter-earthed state. And at the same time, the power supply voltage of the driving stage has not to be set higher than the power supply voltage of the output circuit 28, thus increasing the using effieicency of the power source.
