Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the adsorptive separation method widely suited to the separation of various kinds of mixtures, in which three processes, the supply of fluids to be treated, the formation of the separation and adsorption zones of each component, and the desorption of adsorbed component, are performed in a circulative packed bed divided into three zones, which can be used in the separation of isomerized saccharide into fructose and glucose by using water as an adsorbent.
CONSTITUTION: Fluids to be treated are directed from a supply valve 16 into the packed bed 1, and at the same time fluids equivalent to the supplied phase is drawn out of a discharge valve 17, where fluids rich in hardly adsorbable components are drawn out. Then, the supply and discharged of fluids are stopped and the fluids in the apparatus are moved from the packed beds 1 and 2 toward the packed bed 3 by means of a circulating pump 5, where each component in the fluids to be treated is separated and adsorption zones are formed in place in the bed. Lastly, a desorbent fluid from the supply valve 12 is flowed into the packed bed 1 and at the same time a fluid equivalent to the supplied phase is drawn out of the discharge valve 13, whereupon a fluid rich in easily adsorbable components is drawn out. When the valve 13 is closed and the valve 17 is opened, a fluid rich in hardly adsorbable components is drawn out.
