Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent image omission phenomenon in which a transfer paper waves in high humidity and floats up, hindering toner attachment, by controlling transfer charging voltage in inverse proportion to humidity.
CONSTITUTION: When a transfer paper absorbs moisture, it becomes soft, waves, and wrinkles, so part A floating up from a photosensitive drum occurs, resulting in causing image omission on image areas due to nontransferring of toner. At that time, the transfer paper is sufficiently extended laterally with guide 1a by lowering charging voltage of transfer charger 1 in order to weaken the close attaching force between the durm and the paper, and the floating part of paper A disappeares. Humidity rises in summer, and temperatures rises too, so the efficiency in charging and developing in an electrophotographic apparatus is enhanced, resulting in elevating image density too high. Therefore, the density is kept constant in high humidity by lowering the transfer charging voltage.
