Abstract
PURPOSE:To realize a test of all bits by means of a small number of circuits and with a high frequency for each digit, by securing the same counting action at a high speed for all counting circuits in the time bands other than the counting of the real time and then selecting optional two or more counting circuits for comparison. CONSTITUTION:The counting circuits 21 corresponding to each digit of 1 second, 10 seconds, 1min and 10min respectively is a 4-bit binary counting circuit each and thus count 0-5 or 0-9 in counting of the time and then 0-15 in the test of the counting circuit 21. For this counting, the 1-second time pulse and the pulses for test in 16 or more units are compounded together to obtain the pulses of >=17 units per second. In the test of the circuit 21, each circuit 21 has all at once a circulating count of the same values 0-15. Then the fault detecting circuit 23 gives a comparison to the values of two counting circuits 21 to detect the agreement or disagreement.
