Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent influences of moisture on electrostatic action, such as discharge or charging, by providing a dehumidifier made of a moisture absorber in a position in a copier and restoring its moisture absorbing performance of the dehumidifier using a heating source in the copier. CONSTITUTION:Moisture absorbing sheets 21 are installed in the position as shown by slanting lines. Sheets 21 is prepared by coating adhesives on one side of paper or plastic sheet and attaching or coating a moisture absorbing agent, such as lithium chloride on the other side. When operation of the copier is started, exposure lamp 3 is lighted, and fixing unit 18 is heated, so the temperature adjacent to them rises. Sheets 21 gradually release the absorbed moisture. On the other hand, the moisture released from sheets 21 is carried out of the copier with cooling fan 4 and air flow due to suction unit 9, thus permitting the humidity in the copier to be kept not more than a given point, and influences of humidity on electrostatic action to be prevented.
