Abstract
PURPOSE: The titled fluorescent substance, having improved contrast of a color cathode ray tube, and prepared by applying a transparent film to almost the whole surface of a fluorescent substance particle, and coating the transparent film with a pigment particle having the same color tone as the emission color of the fluorescent substance particle.
CONSTITUTION: A fluorescent substance composing (A) a fluorescent substance particle, (B) a transparent film to coat almost the whole surface of the particle, preferably silicon oxide of film thickness 0.1W1μ, and (C) a pigment particle which has the same color tone as the emission color of the component (A) and is applied to the transparent film (B). In case the component (A) is zinc sulfide activated by silver, the component (C) is preferably ultramarine or cobalt aluminate in an amount of 1W10wt% based on the component (A). In case the component (A) is yttrium oxysulfide activated by europium etc., the component (C) is preferably red iron oxide or indium sulfide in an amount of 0.05W5wt% based on the component (A).
EFFECT: The transparent film increases the reflection frequency of ambient light by the pigment.
