A PRECOATING SOLUTION FOR MANUFACTURING A LUMINESCENT SCREEN OF COLOR CATHODE RAY TUBE IN WHICH SAID PRECOATING SOLUTION COMPRISES POLYVINYL ALCOHOL, AMMONIUM DICHROMATE AND PURE WATER WITH THE ADDITION OF ALUMINUM NITRATE HAVING 1.0 TO 2.0 WT% .THE COATING OF A PRECOATING SOLUTION EXHIBITS IMPROVED ADHERENCE AND DECREASES THE GENERATING AMOUNT OF THE GAS DAMAGING THE FLUORESCENT STRIPE AND ALUMINUM DEPOSITION FILM DURING BURNING UP OF THE ADHESIVE LAYER.
