Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare the titled compound useful as a pesticide, etc., under mild reaction conditions in high yield, by isomerizing a specific thionate in the presence of a Pd catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: A thionate of formula I (R1WR5 are H, alkyl or aryl) is prepared by isomerizing a thionate of formula II (A and B are organic residue; R6WR10 are H, alkyl or aryl) in the presence of a Pd catalyst [pref. tetrakis(triphenylphosphine) palladium], pref. in a solvent such as acetonitrile, in the presence of an acid acceptor at room temperature to 120°C. When Palladium metal is used as the catalyst, a phoshpine-type cocatalyst must be combined therewith. The reaction proceeds under atmospheric pressure.
