Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable a simple reforming of the grinding grains even if a spherical surface of the grains is deformed from a specified radius of curvature and further to improve an efficiency of grinding by a method wherein some diamond grinding grains are combined with some thermoplastic resins and some grooves are formed in the surface thereof.
CONSTITUTION: Diamond grinding grains 2 are mixed with the thermoplastic resin powder 3, a die is placed on the metal base 4 and they are heated altogether to soften the thermoplastic resin 3 to combine the grinding grains 2 with the resin 3 and at the same time the metal base 4 and the resin 3 are combined with each other Then, the grooves 5 are formed radially in the surface of the grinding grin layer composed of grinding grains 2 and the resins 3 starting from its centeral part. When the lens is ground with the diamond grinding stone 1 and worn out gradually to show a variation in an initial radius of curvature of the diamond grinding stone.
