Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a longer life of a cylindrical roller bearing, by a method wherein an inner ring inclines slightly, and in the meantime, an outer ring tilts in the same direction as that of the inner ring following the inclination of the inner ring, whereby a roller is prevented from skewing.
CONSTITUTION: Both side surfaces 23 and 28 of an outer ring member are supported at a housing 29 by means of a spring, and a gap 35 is provided between an outer diameter surface 34 and the housing 29. Thus, even if an inner ring 20 is located in such a state as enables it to be tilted slightly against an outer ring 22a, or causes the inner ring 20 to be inclined against the outer ring 22a during the rotation of a cylindrical roller bearing, the outer ring 22a inclines slightly in the same direction as that of the inner ring 20 following the inclination of the inner ring 20, whereby a roller 37 is prevented from skewing. Furthermore, the outer ring 22a makes slight contact with end surfaces 38 of the roller and edges 39 of a collar, which results in reducing a friction and obtaining a longer life of the cylindrical roller.
