Abstract

PURPOSE: To make easy the check and replacement of a cutting tip and the restart of cutting in cuttinng of thick plate using numerical controlling gas cutting machine, by making a blow by hole near the cutting material.
CONSTITUTION: In making cut material 2 from thick steel plate 1, the cutting is started on a root 3d near the cutting material 2 thereby making a blow by hole 8 of about 8W15mm in diameter on the straight line section of the root 3d. This procedure is given previously to the program. After the hole 8 is made, the flaws of the cutting tip 5 is checked by stopping the supply of cutting gas, and the tip is replaced if necessary. At that position, the cutting oxygen is supplied once again, and the cutting is restarted from the blow by hole 8 thereby cutting into the cutting material 2. In restart of the cutting, the cutting gas passes through the blow by hole 8 to the under side of the steel plate 1, without forming blow up of molten metal 7 of the torch 4 and the cutting tip 5, hereby excellent recutting is performed.
