Abstract

PURPOSE: To regenerate ion exchange resin effectively with reduced amounts of washing water in a shorter treatment time by a method in which a washing waste water from the regenerating process for a strong acid cation resin is passed through a basic anion exchange resin and then reused as the washing liquid for the strong acid cation exchange resin.
CONSTITUTION: In the regeneration of a strong acid cation exchange resin used for removing impurities present in a chrome plating liquid, a washing treatment liquid is sent to the anion exchange tower B to pass it through a basic anion exchange resin on the midway of a washing regenerating process using the washing water of the cation exchanger tower A. Afterwards, the treatment water is again sent to the tower A to reuse it repeatedly as the washing liquid for the strong acid cation exchange resin. Thus, the amount of washing water used in the regenerating process can be reduced, the treating time can be shortened, and the regeneration of the resin can be performed without the needs for the detoxicating treatment of the washing waste water.
