Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide the evaporation-type concentrating unit having a capability of high accuracy level detection in a evaporation vessel, without a special modification of the vessel by installing a ultrasonic transmitter on the bottom face or side face not contacting liquid being concentrated in the vessel.
CONSTITUTION: The evaporation vessel 1 is provided at the side with an inlet pipe 4 to circulate the concentrated liquid from a heating vessel 3, and at the bottom with an outlet pipe 5. The bottom face of the vessel 1 is mounted with the ultrosonic transmitter/receiver 6 connected to an oscillator and signal transducer 7. Ultrosonic wave from the transmitter/receiver 6 passes through an evaporating liquid 2, is reflected from an evaporating surface 2a, is detected by the transmitter/receiver 6, is converted to a signal by the circuit 7, and the liquid level is recorded in a recorder 9 via a controller 8. This system eliminates the effect of sound wave generated in the process of evaporation and the position of the evaporated liquid level can be continuously monitored from the time required by the ultrasonic wave reflected from the evaporation level 2a to reture to the transmitter/receiver 6.
