Abstract

PURPOSE: To minimize accumulation of tar or the like at a fuel vaporizing section, by providing a mechanism for supplying heating air to the fuel vaporizing section by use of a capillary material, and employing such an arrangement that the direction for drawing up fuel at the fuel vaporizing section is opposite to that of the heating- air flow.
CONSTITUTION: Air supplied from an air supply pipe 4 is heated to a predetermined temperature by a honeycomb-shaped, self-controlled heater 5 and then ejected from an upper opening of pipe 4. Then, air is carried into burrner 9 via a mixing chamber 8 after the air flow is deflected downward by an air guide 11 as shown by arrows in the drawing. On the other hand, fuel is drawn up through a capillary material 2 which is dipped in liquid fuel at its lower portion and is evaporated at an upper vaporizing section 3. Then, fuel thus vaporized is carried with heating air while vaporization of fuel is being promoted by the heating air. Here, since arrangement is such that heating air having a highest fuel vaporizing capacity is supplied to the upper portion of capillary material 2 where vaporization of fuel is least, fuel can be vaporized without producing tar.
