Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve workability and reliability by disposing the cores removed of jackets and clads of the multicore optical fibers having clads of high polymer material in such a manner as to be sandwiched by ''Teflon '' sheets, in the grooves of an aligning substrate, and press-sticking the same under heating thereby collectively aligning and fixing the ends. CONSTITUTION:A lower ''Teflon '' sheet 6 is placed on an aligning substrate 7 provided with V-grooves 8 for aligning. Next, the cores 1 of optical fibers removed of jackets and clads of high polymer material such as silicone are disposed on the corresponding V-grooves 8. An upper ''Teflon '' sheet 5 and a metal plate 9 are placed thereon, and pressure is applied thereto in the directions of arrows to press- stick them under heating. Thereby, a multiplicity of optical fibers may be simultaneously and collectively fixed, the workability is made high and the reliability is made high even when this is applied for connectors.
