Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the iron wire with excellent corrosion resistance and abrasion resistance by a method wherein a manganese plated upper layer with a predetermined thickness on the surface of the iron wire is converted to an oxygen containing manganese compound with a predetermined thickness and, moreover, a polyolefin resin with a predetermined thickness is provided.
CONSTITUTION: To obtain the iron wire having excellent oxidation resistance, closely adhering property with an adhesive agent and corrosion resistance without applying chemical forming, the manganese plating is firstly applied to said iron wire to obtain a plated layer with thickness of 3W10g/cm2. This plated wire is washed by water and dried, for example, heated at 200W300°C for 10W200min to form layer of the oxygen containing manganese compound with thickness of 400W1,000Å with excellent corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance on an upper layer of said plated manganese layer. Subsequently, for example, while this treated wire material is maintained at 120W220°C, an adhesive agent such as a modified polyethylene powder or the like is blown to said wire material at a thickness of at least 5μ and a molten polyolefin resin added with a plasticizer or a pigment is continuously extruded onto said wire material from an extruder and the obtained wire material is wound after cooled.
