Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a resin-coated photographic support with no unevenness in coating by coating a paper substrate with a polyolefin resin composition contg. titanium oxide provided with superior dispersibility by coating with an alkyl titanate. CONSTITUTION:A soln. of an alkyl titanate in an org. solvent such as a soln. of isopropyltriisostearoyl titanate in dioctyl phthalate is sprayed on titanium oxide powder while stirring the powder, and the solvent is removed by drying to form titanium oxide powder with about 0.1-3wt% alkyl titanate bonded to the surface. A paper substrate is coated with polyolefin resin contg. about 5- 20wt% said surface treated titanium oxide by means of a heat melt extruder at about 250-350 deg.C melting temp. of the resin and about 50-400m/min running speed of the paper substrate. Thus, a photographic support is formed.
