Abstract
PURPOSE: To print some fine and grace patterns on a cup-shaped article easily and effectively by a method wherein a copper plate printing is performed for a pad surface made of a resilient material having no water absorption characteristic such as a silicon etc., the pad is forcedly contacted with the material to be printed, and they are moved in a horizontal direction or rotated.
CONSTITUTION: When a cup 7 is held by a cup holder U, a moving table S is moved forwardly up to its forward limit position, a pigment is supplied to the copper plate 11 in the copper plate portion V by a doctor device W, then the moving table S is moved rearwardly up to its rearward limit position, the pad 5 is descended, contacted with the lower copper plate 11, the pattern in the copper plate is printed in the pad surface. Then, the moving table S is moved forwardly again up to its forward limit position, the pad 5 is descended again to be contacted with the lower cup 7, and at the same time rotated slowly by one revolution. lifted and returned back to its original position. Since the pad 5 is rotated by one revolution while being contacted with the outer surface of the cup 7, the cup 7 is also rotated and a clear printing of the pattern of the pad surface is made at the outer circumferential surface of the cup 7.
