Abstract
PURPOSE: To eliminate the continual cleaning operation of filter press in a sludge dehydrator by installing a sludge coagulating mechanism and a gravity dehydration mechanism to the foregoing part of the sludge dehydrator which dehydrates by helding sludge between a pair of filter belts.
CONSTITUTION: Sludge being introduced into a coagulating system 11 is flocked by a coagulant 12 supplied, then is guided 10 into a gravity dehydration mechanism 9, where most part of water is separated and dropped by the gravity. The fluidity of the sludge is reduced extremely by this gravity dehydration. The sludge is then passed through chute 8 and supplied on filter belt 3 under the sludge dehydrator 1 so that the sludge is held between the belt and the other filter belt 2 and moved to the dehydration drums 6, 7 to be pressed. Dehydrated sludge by this pressing is discharged out of the machine as dehydrated cake 12. The belts 2, 3 are upset at the part of the upper right rollers 4, 5, moved leftwards as they are clogged, receive again dehydrated sludge coming from the system 9, and pressing and hydration are performed in the same manner as before.
