Abstract

PURPOSE: To constitute the gas engine safely and inexpensively by a method wherein acetylene gas is produced by feeding water to a gas-producing chamber wherein carbide is contained, sent to the engine through the intermediary of a purifier and a safety device, and mixed with oxygen in the engine, thereby a mixture gas being produced.
CONSTITUTION: A cylindrical gas-producing chamber 2 with a pressure-adjusting valve 7 is housed in a water tank 9, and carbide 1 put in a net basket 8 is placed in the chamber 2. A proper quantity of water is dripped from a water supply pipe 3 on the carbide 1, thus acetylene gas being produced. The acetylene gas thus produced is sent through a gas pipe 4 to the purifier 5, where, being made to pass through coke or charcoal layer 11 inside thereof, impurities in the gas are removed. Next, the acetylene gas is sent to an engine through the safety device 6 provided with standing water 12 in the bottom part thereof and is mixed with oxygen. This is ignited and burned, thereby power being obtained.
