Abstract
PURPOSE: To effectively straighten the distortion, by changing the longitudinal stretching force along the latitude of the sheet, and by applying the stronger stretching force to the less stretched part than the more stretched part, at carrying out the stretcher straightening work with the stretcher leveler.
CONSTITUTION: The longitudinal both ends of the metallic sheet S are clamped by necessary number of clampers among plural clampers C1WC7 whose number is selected as large as possible to divide the sheet breadth; then, the sheet S is subjected to the stretching work in the arrowed direction. Hereupon, according to the distortion condition (center buckling or edge buckling) of the metallic sheet S, the stronger stretching force is applied to the less distortion (buckling) part. Moreover, it is desirable that the clamp cylinders CL1WCLn are respectively installed for each of clampers C1WCn in order to permit these clampers C1WCn to work independently of each other, besides, all clampers are given the stretching force by the stretcher cylinder SC, and hereby, the specified stretching force is applied to the metallic sheet S.
