Abstract

PURPOSE: To efficiently remove a caking inhibitor in an aqueous potassium chloride soln. by filtering the soln. under acidic conditions with a filter aid.
CONSTITUTION: A dil. aqueous potassium chloride soln. taken out of an electrolytic cell is sand filtered and adjusted to 5W6pH with hydrochloric acid or the like. This soln. is then filtered with a filter precoated with an inorg. or org. filter aid such as activated carbon, α-cellulose or asbestos to remove a caking inhibitor. In order to perform perfect removal the filtration may be continued after precoating again.
