Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain ferromagnetic powder with superior magnetic charactristics by applying heat reduction after sticking the surface of needle grains whose main component is iron oxyhydroxide or iron oxide with at least three components consisting of aluminum, silicon and silver components.
CONSTITUTION: Aluminum compounds (e.g. aluminum sulfate) and silver compounds (e.g. silver nitrate) are stuck on the surface of needle grains whose main component is iron oxyhydroxide such as α-FeOOH or iron oxide such as α-Fe2O3 by means of adsoption; after filtering and drying said grains, at least three components consisting of aluminum, silicon and silver components are stuck again on the surface of the coated grains by immersing them into the solution containing silicon compounds (e.g. silicone oil), filtering and drying them and then said grains are reduced while heating to obtain ferromagnetic powder with superior magnetic characteristics whose main components is metallic iron.
