Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect and indicate the clogging of a filter used in an air conditioner correctly, by providing in the main circuit of a motor connected to a fan a relay which is set into operation depending on the value of current passed in said main circuit, and setting the relay into operation when the value of current is varied due to clogging of the air filter. CONSTITUTION:When a push button switch 12 for starting air blowing operation is closed and then another push bottom switch 13 for starting heating or cooling operation of the air conditioner is also closed, current is passed through the coil of electromagnetic switches 52F, 52C and their contacts are closed, so that a fan motor FM and a compressor motor CM are set into operation. As the air filter 6 is clogged along with operation of the air conditioner, resistance to air flow through the air filter 6 is increased and load of the fan motor FM is lowered. Therefore, when the current is lowered to a certain value, overload relay 11 is set into operation and its contact is closed, thereby setting a buzzer 14 into operation. By the operation of the buzzer 14, it is known that the air filter 6 is clogged to such an extent requiring its cleaning.
