Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a burner for a small flow quantity of fuel with a nozzle which can perform small flow quantity combustion in a range of comparatively high spray discharge pressure of fuel oil and in a range of comparatively large orifice cross- sectional area of nozzle and has high durability.
CONSTITUTION: A fuel oil pumped out from an inlet 22 entering a cavity 19 via an introduction hole 20, is filtered by a filter 14 and then passing through the slit windows 16, 16' of an adapter 15, a slit guide groove 13 and an inside cavity 5, reaches a cone chip 6. Then the fuel oil is atomized and swirled in swirl grooves 8 formed on the generator surface of the circular truncated cone of the cone chip 6 and sprayed from an orifice 2. If a leak port 23 is opened at this time, fuel oil pressure until passing the swirl grooves 8 is kept constant, the fuel oil therefore is atomized and sprayed from the orifice 2 and at the same time a part of the fuel oil is discharged from the leak port 23. Therefore fuel oil consumption can be reduced.
