Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for an auxilary power source portion, miniaturize a device, lower cost and improve reliability by a method wherein the drive power of a self-excited forward converter is obtained by the switching operation of itself. CONSTITUTION:Collector currents flow through a drive thransistor Q2 by currents from a main power source V1. Drive voltage is induced to the drive winding N2 of a drive transformer T1, the voltage is supplied to a base of the drive transistor Q2, and the drive transistor Q2 is brought to a saturated condition. When a capacitor C1 is charged, a transistor Q1 for OFF is conducted, and the drive transistor Q2 is turned OFF. When the drive transistor Q2 is at ON, voltage is induced at the secondary winding N8 of a main transformer T2, and smoothed, and output voltage is generated between output terminals t1, t2.
