Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the titled vessel having excellent heat-shrinkage resistance and mechanical strength, and suitable as a food container, etc., by blow molding a closed-end parison made of a polyester resin composition containing a specific compound having nucleating effect, such as kaolin, wherein the side wall of the parison has a specific crystallinity.
CONSTITUTION: Polyethylene terephthalate resin is added with 0.002W0.5wt% of at least one compound selected from kaolin, white carbon, talc, sodium benzoate, sodium stearate, barium stearate, antimony trioxide, titanium oxide and silicon oxide, and dried to a water content of ≤0.01%. A closed-end parison having a crystallinity of 1.0W10.0% at the side wall is prepared from the resin composition thus obtained, and subjected to the blow-molding, especially biaxially orienting blow-molding at 80W150°C. The thickness of the parison is pref. 1W12mm. The areal draw ratio at the shoulder and the side walls of the biaxially oriented vessel is pref. 6W16 based on the parison before orientation.
