Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a biaxially oriented bottle which is composed of polyester containing polyethyleneterephthalate as a main component and has extremely small boundary regions between unstretched parts and stretched parts in its structure and also excellent mechanical properties, gas barrier properties, chemical resistance, thermal stability etc. CONSTITUTION:A biaxially oriented bottle is manufactured by blow molding thermoplastic polyester composed of ethyleneterephthalate as a main repeating unit and obtained by reacting an acid component containing more than ca. 80mol% of terephthalic acid and a glycol component containing more than ca. 80mol% of ethylene glycol. And it is composed of thermally stable stretched parts (a), unstretched parts (c) and parts (b) where stretching ratio increases continuously from the part (c) toward the part (a) and also satisfies relation shown in the formula[rho0; density of unstretched part (g/cm<3>), rho; density of stretched part (a) (g/cm<3>, provided rho>=rho0+0.026), (d); distance between the unstretched part (c) and the strethed part part (a)].
