Abstract
PURPOSE: To dry synthesize the titled compound in a shortened process with a little labor by mixing Bi2O3 or a Bi2O3 forming compound and MoO3 or an MoO3 forming compound in an equimolar ratio as Bi2O3 and MoO3 in the form of powder followed by heating in a specified temp. region.
CONSTITUTION: Bi2O3 or a Bi compound such as Bi(NO3)3.5H2O or Bi2(SO4)3 forming Bi2O3 by thermal decomposition and MoO3 or an Mo compound such as H2MoO4.H2O or (NH4)6Mo7O24.4H2O forming MoO3 by thermal decomposition are mixed in the molar ratio of Bi2O3:MoO3 about 1:1 in the form of powder, and this mixture is heated at 500W600°C to synthesize koechlinite type Bi2MoO6.
