Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the initial drying property of a urethane resin coating material that requires the quick-drying property at a relatively low temperature, by a method wherein ultraviolet beam is irrdaiated on a composition in which a urethane prepolymer contg. unsaturated gp. is added to a polyurethane resin coating material.
CONSTITUTION: To a polyurethane resin coating material, a urethane prepolymer contg. unsaturated gps. and consisting of an aliphatic or alicyclic polyisocyanate cpd. having two or more isocyanate gps. and a monoethylenic unsaturated monomer having active hydrogen atoms is added in amount of 15W100wt% per isocyanate component in the polyurethane resin coating material. The obtained coating composition is applied, for example, to the use needing heat-drying at relatively low temperatures, such as automobile repair and roof slate coating, so that ultraviolet irradiation is performed at prestage, poststage, or at the same time with the low- temperature heat-drying. Applicable polyisocyanate cpds. include polyisocyanate cpd. provided from hexamethylene diisocyanate and water.
