Abstract

PURPOSE: The reaction of a polymeric polyol prepared from an ethylenically unsaturated monomer and a polyoxyalkylated heterocyclic polyamine with an organic polyisocyanate is conducted to produce polyurethanes with improved curing properties and increased stiffness.
CONSTITUTION: In the production of polyurethane by the reaction between an organic polyisocyanate and a polyol, where necessary, in the presence of a foaming agent, a polymeric polyol prepared from an ethylenically unsaturated monomer and a polyoxyalkylated heterocyclic polyamine is used as at least one part of the polyol component. The resulting polyurethane gives products formed by reaction injection molding method excellent curing properties and high stiffness. The heterocyclic polyamine used is preferably an aminoalkylpiprazine as aminoethylpiperazine.
