Abstract

PURPOSE: A composition containing organic high-polymer particles with specific particle sizes as well as a crosslinking agent and plasticizer is employed as a curing agent for a prepolymer with isocyanate groups on the chain terminals to produce a low-viscosity and high-dispersibility polyurethane elastomer.
CONSTITUTION: To the major ingredients consisting of (A) a prepolymer with isocyanate groups on the chain terminals, e.g., prepared by reaction of a polyester polyol or polyether polyol with an organic polyisocyanate at an equivalent ratio of 1.5 or less NCO/OH at 50W100°C and, when necessary, a viscosity depressant, is added (B) a curing agent prepared by combining (a) a crosslinking agent, such as water or polyamine, with (b) a plasticizer, (c) particles of organic high polymer with less than 200 mesh particle sizes such as polyvinyl chloride resin particles, and, when necessary, (d) a filler, (e) a catalyst and (f) a carbon dioxide absorber, to give the objective polyurethane elastomer.
