Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the hot air and cool air mixing property of the subject device by amalgamating the hot air which has passed through a heater core and the cool air which has bypassed the heater core in a substantially rectangular direction or a substantially facing direction, and thereafter leading the air thus amalgamated in a direction substantially rectangular to the flow direction of the hot air and cool air. CONSTITUTION:An air mixing door 2 controlling the quantity of air passing through a heater core 1 is fitted so that its free end side is directed toward a cool air inlet port 19. A cool air passageway 3 is formed between the upper wall 21 of a casing 18 so that the cool air entering through the air inlet port 19 and bypassing the heater core 1 comes into collosion with a side wall 20. Further, a hot air passageway 4 is formed so that the hot air which has passed through the heater core 1 rises from a bottom wall 22 along the side wall 20. Both passageways 3 and 4 are mutually amalgamated in the rectangular direction, an exhaust port 6 is opened at a rear wall 23 of a mixing chamber 5 at the amalgamated position, and air of a suitable temperature after the mixing is arranged to be exhausted in a direction rectangular to the flow direction of cool air and hot air. Further, a triangular baffle board 8 is provided in the exhaust port 6.
