Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a generation of red rust and wear on the tapered portion of a tool holder, by forming a film, consisting of solidified lubricant or malleable wear resistant material, on the outer circumferential face of the tapered portion of the tool holder or on the inner circumferential face of the tapered hole of a main spindle.
CONSTITUTION: On metallic contact surfaces 10a, 20a between mutual mother materials of a tool holder 10 and main spindle 20, a solid film 30 of 2W10μm thick, is formed to prevent a mutual contact between the mother materials. The film is formed with a coating by the method of plasma flame spraying for MoS2, BN and a coating by the rubellite treatment of Mn3(PO4)2 or electrolytic plating of lead, tin, to prevent a generation of rust and wear due to the mutual contact between the mother materials.
