Abstract

PURPOSE: To regulate automatically moisture in hot air to a target value by a procedure in which moisture in hot air taken from the main air supply pipe through which hot air is supplied from a hot air furnace to a blast furnace is measured and compared with a target value of moisture, and then according to the deviation, the amount of water vapor to be added is adjusted.
CONSTITUTION: The hot air from the main air supply pipe 3 connecting the hot air furnace 2 with the blast furnace 1 is sampled and then introduced into the temperature-constant tank 5 of the hygrometer 4 in which a standard correlation between the moisture and temperature of hot air is stored. On the other hand, a target absolute humidity value previously set up is received from the humidity setter 19, the internal temperature range of the constant-temperature tank 5 is correspondingly obtained, and then the internal temperature range of obtained is compared with the measured temperature value of the constant-temperature tank 5, sent from the temperature comverter 16. Where the measured temperature value is out of the internal temperature range, a signal is sent to the commander 20, the electromagnetic valve 14 is operated to supply water, the temperature of the constant-temperature tank is lowered to keep it proper, and at the same time the amount of water vapor to add is controlled to a proper value according to the deviation between the measured temperature and the set temperature.
