Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the construction of an air conditioner which includes a heat pump type refrigerating cycle comprising as a major means a compressor and to reduce the cost of the air conditioner, by controlling at an indoor unit side the defrosting operation of an outdoor heat exchanger.
CONSTITUTION: When in accordance with the progress of frosting on an indoor heat exchanger 3 the temperature of an outdoor heat exchanger 5 is lowered below a predetermined temperature, that is, when a voltage in a conjunction a becomes lower than a predetermined voltage in a conjunction b through an increas of resistance of a thermistor 20, a logical "1" signal is outputted from a comparator 43.
