Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a retarding device which is compact and capable of operating stably, by providing a fixed member with a valve mechanism and bellows. CONSTITUTION:When an operating member 21 is depressed, the sealed-in liquid moves from the interior of the first bellows 23 into the second bellows 28. At this time, since a port 27 is closed by a valve member 31, the liquid moves through an adjusting hole 32 so that the energy of an impact, if any, applied to the operating member 21 is absorbed in the movement of the liquid, resulting in a damping effect. After the external force applied to the operating member 21 is removed, the liquid is transferred from the second bellows 28 into the first bellows 23 by the elastic recoil forces of the bellows 23, 28. At this time, since the valve member 31 opens the port 27, the fluid resistance is small enough for the liquid to be returned easily by the elastic force of the bellows.
