Abstract

The damping action of the mechanism depends mainly on the displacement of liquid through a constricted passage 16 between liquid-filled chambers 3, 4 in response to a relative movement between inner and outer members 1,2 defining the chambers. The constricted passage is defined by a movable throttling member 14, 15 which is subjected to a spring force tending to decrease the area of the constricted passage and serves to adjust the area of the constricted passage in a predetermined dependence on the actual pressure difference between the liquid pressures in the chambers. <IMAGE>
