Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve efficiency of discharging sludge by connecting an air supply hose to a suitable portion of a pumping-up hose put from a pumping-up pump device into discharged sludge to supply a proper amount of air into the pumping-up hose and add air lift effect to a suction system.
CONSTITUTION: At first, a vacuum pump 6 is driven to maintain the internal pressure in a vacuum tank 4 at a predetermined negative pressure. Then, a pumping-up hose 8 is put into sludge in a manhole. A suction adjusting valve 13 provided on a neck of the pumping-up hose 8 is opened to start sludge discharging operation. Then, air reserved in the upper portion of an accumulator 7 under a predetermined pressure is mixed with sludge 2 being discharged through the pumping-up hose 8 by utilizing discharge pressure of a vacuum pump 6 through a secondary air supply hose 9 to reduce apparent specific gravity of sludge 2 and improve efficiency of transporting the sludge 2 in pipe.
